I am an amateur photographer who has only had my camera since December 2013 and absolutely loving my new toy which is fairly rapidly becoming my new passion. I try to take just everyday pictures of what’s around me here in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.
I am 48 (just) biologically, act somewhere between 30 and 40 years old, yes, I am a children. I live with my wife Hazel, two dogs (both from a shelter) which I adore, a ring neck parrot which was given to my wife as a gift from her brother named Genie (the bird, not the brother). Genie is a female and absolutely detests Hazel but I can do no wrong. Sometimes I think the bird is the only one that gets me!! Just kidding.
I am still learning my craft and would like honest opinions. Although I am still an amateur photographer, please respect the fact that these are my photographs and may not be used without my permission.
When not taking photos, I work as the Financial Manager for an NGO in Mental Health.

Having fun and trying to learn as much as I can. Did a basic week long DSLR course earlier in February, intend to do the advanced later in the year and then do documentary photographic course or the creative photography course, or who knows, maybe both. They are part time so there is no rush or pressure.

Good Idea, keep it relaxed, but the best way to learn is to just go out, shoot stuff that is of interest to you. You would be shocked at how much you will learn 🙂
